In Loving Memory
So last night I felt the horrible experience of watching my baby die. My Ipod that is. It wouldn't start. No matter how much I pressed the buttons, no light came to life. I know that sending it to repair would cost me because my warranty is out. Usually the repair would cost as much as a new Ipod. So no hope there.
I have always imagined that if my baby did die I would cry for days and days. But surprisingly I'm not shedding any tears. It doesn't mean that I'm not sad. I'm actually deeply depressed and despondent.
I know that an Ipod is just a materialistic object but to me it isn't. It's a companion and a friend. It's a musical device that has helped me through the darkness of days and the happiest of moments. The music is part of my soul. Without it I feel so empty.
You guys know that I always have my Ipod with me. The only time I don't have it with me is during school hours. When the last bell rings and I am good distance from school campus, the Ipod is in my hands. I go everywhere with it. When I go out, bringing my Ipod is even more important than bringing my handphone or money.
Now I know how H felt when her Ipod passed on. I hope I can cope with it like her. I know that asking for a new one right now would be in vain. My parents are not going to fork up 1000 bucks and more on me unless I have a very good reason. I think the best chance is after the SPM results, if I get good results that is.
It's not the lost of my Ipod thats making me mournful, its the thought that I'm not going to be having music with me at all times. Get it?
So this is an early warning, if I am distant and cold this coming monday, you know what I'm going through. Just don't try to make it worst. Thanks.
