I took notes and I think it is better to start saving now
On Sunday after going to the Star education fair, my dad invited me to his friend's sister's wedding because my stepmom bailed out and there was an extra seat. I was too lazy to go but then my dad said that
"There might be some hot young blue blood hanging around there"
With that I showered and got ready. I wanted to wear my simple pink batik baju kurung but my dad insisted that I wore something more glamorous. So I wore my gold modern baju kurung with intricate beading down the side that sometimes itches. Seeing my dad and grandfather dress up gave me an indication of how much of a big deal this wedding was.
The wedding was held at the grand ballroom at Shangri-La. There were photographers scattered outside the ballroom, taking pictures of all the datuks and datins. It was such a big deal when the VIP ( Perak royalty) arrived.
Apparently you are seated with people that you know. (It must have took them forever to get the seatings done) So you would not be stranded on a table with no one to talk to. My dad's table was seated with all of his Johanian friends and their wives.
They were talking and laughing about their old school days. Ironically their wives were all from BBGS so the conversations were very interesting. The funny part was when they joked about the fact that every wedding march, a Sheila Majid song would always be played. It makes them feel old. Then suddenly when they looked at the big screen in front, Sheila Majid was actually performing on the stage.
The food was absolutely heaven. The fish and steak was fantastic. But I totally enjoyed the dessert which was hazelnut parfait with honey ice-cream. Sedap sial!
The whole hall was decorated to make it look like you're in this fantasy pixie garden. The table centers were made of roses and tulips. There was a rose encrusted gazebo above the pelamin. It was a beautiful sight to see. It makes me wanna start thinking of my wedding. HAHA!
I did not get to see any hot blue bloods, but I did enjoy myself.
