The Jason Mraz concert could possibly be the most amazing thing I have ever experience
So yes I'm back and I took a shower. We joked that we need to perah the sweat first as a reminder of the concert we went to. So the event started like this, we (me, Rafa, Sarah and 2 of Sarah's friends) lined up outside the stadium for like an hour. We took pictures with Awin's camera for a short time and mostly catch up on our lives.
Then the gates were open and we were pushed inside. Inside we sort of stood at the front most part of our section. We waited for another hour and a half. We lost Sarah to her friends due to the people filling in fast. ( we told her to go to the lost & found counter if she couldn't find us later) So it was just me and Rafa.
The wait was agony to me. It was hot and I couldn't move. Plus I was thirsty as hell like a desert was growing down my throat. But when the lights turned down and Jason arrived on stage with his acoustic guitar and signature pale fedora, everything sort of faded away.
The second song he sang was The Remedy. He played in a differently composed way which made it so much more fun to sing. During the chorus, he asked the crowd to sing and could you believe it, everyone sang along. The whole stadium was echoed by our unified voices. It was a chilling experience.
He then sang some of his famous songs (I'm Yours, You and I, Geek in the Pink) all in a differently composed way from jazz to beach music to spanish soul. The arrangement of the songs were so beautiful and addictive. Even I who has never heard some of his songs felt like I had already listen to them a million times. Rafa knew all the songs cause she listened to his albums.
Me and Rafa linked our arms, swayed our bodies and sang along throughout the whole concert. Rafa and I felt the tingly feeling of listening to his voice and drowning ourselves in his romantic poetry. Its like that feeling you have when a guy serenades you an amorous song. Your heart starts to burn and your kness become weak.
After it ended, we all raced outside before we die of thirst. We manage to scramble through and bought 3 bottles of mineral water. We all quafed down three quaters of the bottle in less than 2 minutes. Then we went our separate ways to head home.
I don't have much pictures or any video but the memory of seeing and experiencing Jason Mraz personally is something I will never forget. It was an out of body experience that I wish all of you could taste.
Big thanks to Rafa and Sarah! You guys were my best friends tonight!
