Beauty and inspiration comes in the most unpredictable ways
So on Monday, my mum called saying that my stepdad got a severe allergic reaction while he was camping out with his buddies at Pulau Kapas. He was admited to a hospital in Terengganu for observation. My mum got worried and booked a flight to Terengganu that night.
Our flight was at 7.45pm and it was my first flight with my mum since we came back from Hawaii. Honestly, it felt like an adventure. I only packed a t-shirt, deodarant, underwear, my book and sweat pants for sleep. It could all miraculously fit in my small little sling bag.
We arrive at Ganu and on the way to the hospital I watched the stars from the taxi window. The sky was so clear that you could see every little sparkling star that night. It was like a puzzle and you needed to connect the stars to form a picture. You can never see that in KL.
After we visited my stepdad at the most dingy hospital ever. I swear to god we need to appreciate the hospital services here. Thank god the hospitals of KL have air conditioning! Anyway we walked to our hotel which was down the street and to my surprise it was a beach resort. So yeah it was a pretty swanky place.
Get this, the reception dude that gave us the keycards to our room, his name was Mohd Hitler. I'm not fucking joking. It was boldly written on his nametag. The lady working with him even addressed him as Hitler. Man that made me laugh. (not in front of him la). Mak bapak dia mesti gila Hitler punye.
So the next morning after a very sugary breakfast, the pancakes were so bloody sweet there was no point of serving the syrup! It was insane. I love sugary stuff and my sugar intake would definitely drive me to diabetes but their food' sugar level was fucking ridiculous.
My mum went to the hospital while I stayed behind, trapped under the soft thick comforters while I watched a very young and haughty Branden Fraser in Mrs Winterbourne. Man his arrogance in that movie made him so hot.
Then at 12.30 I had the audacity to go outside in the hot sun to enjoy the scenery and take some pictures. Plus there was the sea breeze so it wasn't that hot. The beaches were beautiful. There was like 2 miles of white sand and I was the only human being on that strech of land. The sun, the breeze and the sounds of shells colliding together as the waves crach upon them was enough to reboot the creative drive inside my brain.
I hope I can continue to write again. Who knew our small little unforeseeable trip to Terengganu would actually be fun.
