First Question

Men's faithfulness towards God is a very facinating subject

So call me crazy but the first question I ask a guy here in KMM is

"You warak ke?"

Seriously, that is a crucial question when I'm making friends with a guy. Why do I ask such an unusual question? It is because I have the tendency to touch people. Whether its a pat on the back, a nudge to the arm or the simple gesture of leaning my elbow against their broad shoulders, touching is normal to me. In my opinion, physical contact brings people together.

But as we learned in religious studies, touching between men and women who are not related is strictly prohibited. This religious law is taken seriously among some of the people here in KMM. So I ask this question to the male species to prevent the spilling of sins. Get it?

So today I decided to be bold and talk to this guy who I find facinating. He wasn't listed in the KMM eye candy blog because I just found out how facinating he is last week. His code name is "sayang". There is a funny story behind how he got his code name and if you wanna know about it, just tell me and I'll write about it in the next post.

So sayang was standing outside the the hall and after talking to DeeDee, I came up to him and asked the famous question. Mind you, I already asked that question to numerous men and there was only one that said yes. But he looked alim anyway so it wasn't a surprise.

Anyway I was sort of shocked when he replied "Ya.. ya... agakla". Because he doesn't look alim at all. He's tall and has a body shape that would temp you to hug him. Plus he has that arrogant assholic swagger. Then he told me that he's a NTP member. NTP is a community that takes care of the religious aspects of the college. They always organize tazkirahs at the surau and encourage people to sembahyang berjemaah together. Only the most warak of the warak join the NTP community and sayang told me that he's a member. WTH?

The shocking punchline came afterwards when he said " I sebenarnya president NTP ". Only one word popped up in my head:

MOTHERFUCK

Then later, after the astonishing news of his presidency to the most warak fraternity this side of Melaka, I decided to ask him a couple of more questions to satisfy my uncertainty. I wasn't uncertain, I just wanted to know if he's warak by choice or warak because of his position.

It turns out he's warak by choice but he considers himself a very open warak person. He doesn't judge me because I don't wear a tudung and he's comfortable walking beside me (as long as we don't touch each other). You know, he says he doesn't want people to judge him because he's in a very religious society. In my heart, I don't want him to judge me because I'm not as religious as him.

It's weird. I know.

So that was my experience of meeting a very facinating open warak guy. Warak but still an asshole. Rupanya dia budak Klang. No wonder he understands my english perfectly and no wonder he exudes that haughty vain attitude.

Busted!

School is over! Whats the problem? I got news from my sister that our prom which was held last year was discovered by the school authorities. Our principle announced it during assembly. She said that if we were to plan a party, we should do it together with the school. Then she said that the last school she became principle at, they had their prom with the school's help. It was an all girls school and they had the prom without any boys. Where's the fun in that? Boring gila sial! Plus all of us has finished school, we're not bounded to them anymore. So the party has nothing to do with the school. Its a party for studenta who left the school that year. Seriously, if we had the prom with the school's knowing, it would be a disaster . All we do is sit down and eat. No DJ, no performances, no Bunkface . Plus think of all the rules. Our dresses must be decent which means no sleeveless and nothing above the knee. Baik pakai baju kurung je! God the whole point of doing prom wi...

Breezy Island Getaway

At first I assumed that our trip to Penang would be simple. Honestly, I wasn't even looking forward to it but in the end I did enjoy myself. I thought we were staying in the city but it turned out we stayed at Batu Ferringhi which is near the beach. I didn't get to swim cause I didn't bring a swimsuit. I haven't been to Penang for years now and when I was there, I feel like I want to retire there. The atmosphere there is awesome. Its so laid back and carefree. I can see myself in a floral summer dress with my sunglasses and flip flops, wandering around the beach every morning. The night flea market there was so much fun. I wanted to buy this turqoise bracelet which is similar to the one Bella wore in twilight but it was too damn expensive. Sheesh.... When we were there, I thought I could leave all my KL problems for a while and just relax. Then my dad called and ruined everything. It seems like since SPM ended, he is always bringing me bad news. I'm effing annoyed ...

Simple to Sour ( A Fucked Up Birthday)

My grandparents screw up everything! They are toxic! FYI- I am currently crying and I'm too mad to hold back any tears. I don't care, all i wanna do is get this out. I'll call Nurul or Jasmin or Mia after this to let out my feelings. I don't expect anything extravagant from my grandparents. They are old and don't believe in celebrating birthdays. To them, it's just another normal day.  I was surprised when I came home to see my maid cooking my favorite kuih gulung and she said that my grandfather is at Nikko Hatel buying my birthday cake. So before dinner, my grandmother confronted me and asked me why didn't I tell her about my party this weekend. There are a few reasons why I didn't tell her: 1) I didn't bother because she's not gonna be there anyway 2) I am going to be with my dad that weekend so she doesn't have to worry about anything 3) I'm not using her money 4) Nothing would change if she did knew about it She was mad saying th...
