Being the ham between the tomatoes and lettuce in a sandwich.
Have you ever been the middle person in someone's relationship? I'm not talking about the guilty position of the other woman but just a friend stuck in the middle. After watching the Secret Life of an American Teenager just now, I started remembering back the days when I got that messy position.
But this time it was a little different and the responsibility was a heavier cause those two lucky beings were technically not in a relationship. They were in the preliminary round of a possible scandal. How was I part of it? Well here is how the story goes.
It was the time when I started to get cozy with this guy, Charlie. Not 'cozy' in the kinky way that you're thinking but more of a friends type of cozy. It was also the same time I started to be friends with a cute girl named Ashley.
Charlie started showing interest towards Ashley and asked me about her. At the same time I heard that Ashley was checking out if Charlie was serious with anybody. Ashley started asking me questions about the type of guy Charlie is and I told her mostly positive things cause Charlie is my friend so why would I want to tell crap. Then they went on without me, getting all peachy and lovey and I was happy for them.
Then one evening for dinner I met up with Ashley and she started asking me all these questions about Charlie's reputation. Yeah Charlie had this reputation of being a flirt cause he's good looking and all. I assumed that she knew he was a player and that his charming greetings were not only given to her. She for some reason couldn't grasp that info and was flabbergasted for a moment.
In came to a point where I told her to give me her phone, I opened the inbox and scrolled down to the sweet messages that Charlie sent to her. Then I opened my inbox and compared the messages that he gave to me with the ones she received. They were almost the same with all the 'dears' attached to the end of almost every message.
She took it bad but at the same time I felt sort of sick. Why? Cause she actually firmly thinks that his words and charm were meant solely for her. Yeah I know how adorable she is and guys would line up for her but she acted like Charlie should be lucky to even get her attention. That level of greatness she was showing was too much and in my head I was like "Girl, you ain't that great."
But you know, thats how she thinks of herself and I can't change that. Let her be as pompous as she wants to be. This doesn't mean that I'm not friends with her but I'm just pointing out a flaw. I'm a bitch, I can't help it.
It got sort of wild after that cause then Charlie started texting me asking if he did anything wrong towards Ashley due to her sudden tacit attitude towards him. It got ugly afterwards and I was in the middle of it. I hated it. I really did. Never get caught up in something like that.. Trust me. So thats one of my rantings.
